This campground is just off the interstate. It is an easy on and easy back on type of place. The site we had was 95% level. Most of the other sites ranged from 50% to 75% level. There was a pool (closed for season), club house with a TV and some exercise equipment (very limited), horseshoe pits, a basketball goal, and loads of playground equipment here. All of this was in good working order. The bathhouse was clean and well maintained. The Wi-Fi was fair and the cable TV was as clear as it could be. The interior roads were gravel and were in good repair. Overall, this a very good place to stay.

This is one of the best state parks we have been to. This park offers a lot in an area that offers much. To start with, the interior roads are now paved. The campsites are mostly level. About 20 to 30 of them have full hook-ups with water, sewer, and electric. Cable TV, phone, and a pool are not available here at this park. There is ample space between most sites. The site (205) that we are on is 80% private. The bathhouses are in decent shape. The one closest to us is about 20 years old and it shows. There are other bathhouses that are in better shape. They are all clean and function in the way they are supposed to. Our site had a fire ring and a wooden picnic table. The camp store offers Wi-Fi and the sites in rows 1, 2, and 3 have some coverage too. The park store offers coffee, cokes and other supplies. The local newspaper can be purchased there as well. The beach here is super. This state park has an ocean pier that one can fish from. Plus, there is a gift shop with local items, plus bait for fishing. There is a boardwalk that runs from the pier to about where the campground starts. There are plenty of picnic tables scattered about and shelters. There are two major walking/nature trails. I understand there is a lone gator out in the pond. The staff here seems to be nice and most appear to enjoy their jobs. One ranger has been here 15 years. She was and is a blessing. Pets are welcomed and I noticed pets’ pickup stations throughout the park. The beach here is wonderful as it slopes off just right. Plus, there are plenty of sharks’ teeth to be found here. There are lifeguards stationed there and they seem to keep a close eye out for swimmers.

Camping in the Smokies Campground July 09. This campground sports many good qualities. The location is super for planning a visit to Gatlinburg. It is right on the trolley line (trolley stops at the mouth of the campground) and fairly close to town. One could walk it if you had to. The bathrooms, showers and laundry rooms were in good repair and very clean. The pool was kept up daily. The grounds were maintained and not one speck of trash could be found. The general area was level and there were ample gravel on each site. The campground has WIFI and a sampling of cable (8 channels) TV. On the down side, the sites were very close to one another. I had to watch my slide out to make sure it did not hit the camper next door. The campground did not have any playground equipment at all. The worst thing was the managers were extremely strict on every rule they have in place. I saw them almost tow a car for being parked there without one of their tags. They ran off some teens from the pool because they were not 18 years old. Those teens needed a parent with them in order to swim. There was a creek that ran beside the campground. Overall the price we paid was too high and the sites were too close for us to return.

This park is one of the best parks we go to. There is only electric on loops b and c. There is a fire ring at each site as well as a picnic table. The sites with electric have all been paved since our last visit. Now, they did not try and level any site. Some sites are more level than others. The one we were in required no leveling at all. Several sites were much un-leveled. The bathhouses were in great repair and clean. There was heat inside them. I think there was also AC in them too. The amphitheater was nice. I went to one of the park programs they have there. The seating was peaceful. If you enjoy hiking this is the place to be. There are numerous trails that one can take right out side your door. There was some road noise. This park has loads of trees. None of them get in the way for your RV.

The distance from the main highway to the park is a little on the long side. However, the ride is worth the wait. Although the roads a narrow they are passable. When we arrived it was confusing to me. I had to pull over and get my bearings as to how to get into the camping area. Our 1st impression was wow. The campground is nice and level for the most part. There seems to be 4 rows of full hookup sites and two areas for tent camping. One of the rows looks to be complete pull-thru. There are plenty of trees in this area too. The bathhouse was clean and in good repair. I noticed some playground equipment just outside the camping area. This park has a nice pool (we did not use, out of season). Over next to the pool was some basketball goals and I saw 2 sets of horseshoe pits. There was not a camp store, but there were several large pavilions. There shelters could be rented to have a good sized party. I only noticed one walking trail. It is a short one. There is a river right next to the camping area. It, too, was clean. The overall area looked safe and very inviting to families. Most of the full hook up sites appears to be concrete. All sites had a picnic table. Only the tent sites allowed for an on the ground fire.

This is our 2nd stay at this campground. This place is small but it backs a big punch. The pool was in good shape. The water was clean and they even had play toys out and about. The bathhouse was spotless. It was in very good repair. The camp store offered some items but they were limited. We were in site number 6 and it was mostly level. There was a good layer of gravel on this site. Some of the other sites had little or no gravel on them. Out site was well marked and sat between several trees. There were some sites that had no trees at all. The WIFI was somewhat spotty. I had a signal but some items were slow to load. The staff here was great. They were all helpful and gracious.

This state park has it going on. We stayed here from Wednesday night until Sunday morning. This park has loads of items in its favor. There is the lake and much more to look forward to. There is two bath houses, horseshoe pits, playground equipment (some updated), a huge swimming pool, loads of wild life, and much more. The site we had was so level we did not have to use any leveling at all. The water was good and the pressure was good too. The park overall was in fair repair. The only sore spot was the bath houses. They are in need of updating. The staff here were pleasant and the area was nice in general.

This campground is located about 2-3 miles form the beach. There was a trolley that ran to and from the beach. The area here is mostly level and the campground sports several trees. This is especially true of the tent area. The site we have does not have a tree within 30 feet of it. There is no cable here at this campground. The camp store seems to have a good selection. The pools look to be clean and well kept. They have this jumping thing for a kid that is so cool I want to go and jump on it. It is huge and looks to be in great shape. There seems to be ample playground equipment and other kid type stuff. The laundry room was clean and in good repair. The game room was fairly large and offered several games to choose from. The bathhouses were in good repair and seemed clean. I used one of the showers and there was plenty of hot water. In addition, the showers were very private. There was even soap in the bath rooms and paper towels. In addition, there was a hand blower (drier) in the bathroom. The overall grounds were in good shape. The lawns were mowed, and trash pick up was timely. The Wi-Fi here was a little spotty. I had a slow connection some of the time. Other times the Wi-Fi seemed to just be down. The roads here were a mixed bag. Some of the roads were paved and in good shape. Other interior roads were gravel and were in a mixed state of repair. There were some rough places. Overall, the price could have been just a little lower, and I would have rated it just a little higher. We would come back to this campground. Rating of 8 plus is the rate I would give this place.

This “L” shaped park is different. We had a spot (255) near the river. It was flatland which I enjoyed. I had very little leveling to do. Most other spots near me were level too. The grounds were kept up very good. I noticed them mowing and weed eating. Plus, I saw them using some sort of grass killer around the concrete pads. I think all the spots had these pads. The grass was very full and felt nice under my feet. They had planted trees in this area about 4 years ago. They were about 15 foot tall and provided some shade. There is a picnic table for each site. The one we had was in good shape. This place has a pool but I was not able to make use of it. I could not help but notice they had a bunch of cabins. They were all seated on the riverbank. The fire rings were all placed near the riverbank too. The river was placid and I did notice several people fishing on it. I was unaware if they were catching any fish. The bathhouses were spotless. But, there are only two of them for over 300 sites. I say that is not enough for the number of potential campers. The arcade was very outdated. I noticed an Ms Pac-man game and 3 others. They were all way out of date. They do have a nice pavilion. It looks to seat about 100 people. I understand they have church services and they do tend to be well attended. The camp store was fairly well stocked. I would guess that in the summer it would have even more items. The interior roads are gravel and well kept. This park also has internet but the cost is about $3 per hour! For this reason and the lack of bathhouses, and the lack of fire rings I give this park a 7+.

I must say that this park is an unused jewel in this area. The entire time we were here I only saw the campground have about 10 percent of all the available spaces filled. True, there are some spots that are better then others. The loops (B and C) are the only ones with electricity. The other loops do not have this. Plus, some sites are more level than others. The one we had required no leveling at all. This could not be said about 90 percent of the other sites. Some of the sites looked almost impossible to level without using center blocks or large wood pieces. No sites in the entire campground had water. All the sites had some form of fire rings and picnic tables. The tables were fastened down and were in good shape. Most all sites had gravel in the driveway and most offered a grassy area for tents. Some sites were huge in size. I noticed one or two that kids could play football in. Now these were in or near the group camping area. The bathhouses were clean and in great repair. The shower in the bathhouse we used was large. They were very private and the water pressure and temperature were very good. I noticed the staff here cleaning them each day. I noticed a total of 3 bathhouses. This park is building one of the best amphitheaters I have ever seen. It looks like it could hold about 100 people. When finished (aprox. July 08), it sports a large stage area with electricity and some sort of building with it. I wonder what the building is going to be used for. The staff here was as friendly as any other park. The camp host was very helpful. There was some road noise from a highway nearby. Plus, there was no playground equipment anywhere near the camping area. There was not even a creek for kids to play in. I would call this an adult type campground although I did see several kids here. For the lack of water, sewer, and other normal type of campground stuff I give this place a loaded 8. We do plan on camping here again in the future.

We did an overnighter in this park. The space we had was level. The overall appearance of this place showed pride of ownership. The bath house I used was clean. However, it was just a little out of date. The check in was easy and the roads were wide enough for any big rig out there.

This place is awesome. The pine trees near (site # 36) us are about 40 foot tall. The little scrub trees are about 10 to 20 feet tall. They are scattered everywhere in this park. There is saw grass all over the place too. It is tall and green with little white flower like things sticking up from the top. Of course there are beach trees (palm). However, I do not notice that many of them. There has been loads of landscaping done around here. I even noticed a park person going around picking up dead branches. I guess they were also picking up trash too. I gather this because I have seen no trash anywhere in the park. This place is spotless. The bathhouses were in good repair and clean. The laundry facility was open and located in a good spot. There is a tram that runs every 2 hours to the beach. It is about 7 tenths of a mile to the beach if you walk it. There is a camp store that stocks the bare essentials. There is a club house that contains facilities for cook outs and family get to gathers. There is a heated pool. All the sites here are paved. The roads are all paved and in excellent repair. The concrete pads (RV’s site on) are mostly level and there is space between each of these. This park has full hook ups to include water, sewer, cable and power. Now here are the drawbacks: I have noticed no playground equipment to speak of. There is no wi-fi in the park area. The only bad sites are in the very front of the park. These sites contain little landscaping and seem to be close together. Plus, every vehicle coming and going would pass right by you. The best sites in the park are in the 100 loop. These sites are more private and have an overall better landscaping. This park also offers some of the best cabins I have ever seen. These cabins look like small homes.

We did an over night stay in this state park. The park had style and a small measure of security. There was a locked gate at the entrance and one of those “one way” barriers coming out the exit. The park was somewhat confusing to a new person. I had to drive throughout the park to find a site. The bath house was clean. The site we had was not very level. There were plenty of playground equipment and a lodge. I think there is a lake too. I wish I had been able to stay for a day or so.

This campground is one of the best I have ever stayed in. It is a military campground so one needs to have some sort of affiliation. Security rates very high because it sits inside the base. I recall seeing the base police patrol even thought there was no need for them to do so. The site we had was very level and contained a concrete pad. The other sites appeared to be very level too. They all contained a concrete pad too. There was ample space between sites. The playground equipment was in good shape and fit the size of the campground. The bathhouse was in very good repair and was cleaned at least twice a day. The equipment was in good working order. The camp host was pleasant and they enforced the camp rules without being over bearing. The overall soundings were pleasant and peaceful. The campground contained plenty of trees and a good nature walk was right next door. Overall the entire base was laid out in a manner that helped one enjoy the campground.

This was our 3rd time visiting this state park. Each time I enjoy it more and more. The site (136) was almost completely level. It sat up on a small hill and overlooked the sunrise each morning. The bathhouse was very clean and in good repair. The grounds were mowed and despite the lack of rain looked green. This park offers limited full hookups. Most of the sites only offer electricity and water. There is no cable (we do not use it) throughout the park. The cost of this park combined with the beauty of it makes it a jewel. We plan on returning here as often as we can.

This campground is small but has a big punch. This place is loaded with stuff to do. I asked for a set of horseshoes and low and behold they offer several other items too. They had Basketball, volley ball, some sort of golf ball toss game and more. I was able to secure several players for horseshoes. Furthermore, this campground offers service that sales. When I got here, they lead me to my site. Then, I was helped with leveling my class C. They even brought their own wood blocks. Overall, the sites are somewhat level. The site we had had full hook ups to include water, sewer, electric, phone, and cable TV (did not use the last 2). The sites were a little small compared to some that I have stayed in. The staff here was helpful and seemed to desire to please. The bathhouse was very clean and spacious. The clubhouse was in good repair and had loads of other things to do. It had a TV, VCR, and a DVD player. It had about 30 puzzles and a host of board games. This campground offers free wireless internet and free coffee in the main office. I was able to connect when ever I wanted. I was impressed with the value added things this small campground offered. Overall, I would stay here again if I were staying for a long while. The only thing keeping this place from a 10 is the size and the noise from some sort of rock quarry in the rear of the campground. There was some dust issues as well.

We stayed one night in this state park. Overall this is park is well equipped and up to date. The bathhouses were clean and in good repair. The park was clean and the sites were for the most part level. The one we had was paved. However, the tenting area was one of the best I have ever seen. There were no hookups in the tent area. But, there was an abundance of trees for shade. This park had all the bells and whistles one could want. I saw 4-5 playground areas for small kids. They had tennis courts, putt-putt, horseshoe pits, an activity center stocked with games, a pool, and a nice old fort near by, laundry facilities, volleyball, and more. It also lies near some river with a boat launch. This state park has a reservations system.

I must first admit that I did not stay here in this campground. However, I had just sold a guy my camper and spent several hours helping him sit it up. While there, I was able to look about the place. Mostly this campground is for seasonal campers. They had very few spots for folks who just want to spend a day or two. The sites that are open for travelers were not the best sites. Most had no sewer. Only the permanent sites had sewer water, and electric. The bath house was a mess and according to the person I sold the camper to they stay that way. Now, the location on the lake was very nice. There were horseshoe pits, a camp store, and a boat launch. Other than those items the place is just very bland.

We stayed two nights in this state park. The bathhouses were clean and in good repair. The park was very clean and the sites were for the most part level. There was an abundance of trees for shade. Furthermore, this park sits on a nice man made lake. There was a great big pool and several areas for having a picnic. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was high-quality. This state park does not have a reservations system.

This campground sits on top of a hill or some may call a mountain. The elevation at this camp ground is about 3,000 above sea level. We went up a steep hill to get to the campground. We were received by two of the nicest people we have ever met while camping. The hosts were helpful in picking a spot. He offered advice that was very sound in regards to my camper fitting into one of the sites. The sites overall were a bit on the unleveled side. Each site had electricity, water (well water), and sewer. There was no cable nor were there phone hookup. Both of these we did not need. The grounds were somewhat well kept. The place was free of trash. However, some of the sites were left unmowed. There was a small playground. There was not a pool located at this campground. There was a club house and a bathhouse. There was laundry facilities. The bathhouse was very clean and in excellent repair. There was a tenting area. Overall, I would go back here.

The park seems to have had around 40 sites set up for RVs and just about that number sit up for tent sites. The sites were fairly level. Each site was marked with gravel and had water and electricity. The power supply seemed to work well. The grass was neatly mowed and trimmed. This park is located on Nickajack Lake in Jasper TN. The main issue that bothered me was the geese. Yes, there were hundreds of them and they left their mark right on the camping areas. They deposited their droppings everywhere. One other issue we had was the reservations system. It was poor at best. The park contained lots of amenities. It had a boat ramp that looked very serviceable. The playground was in good repair. They had a theater area that looked like music was played there often. There was a fishing pier that went about 50 feet out into the lake. They had a swimming area that was well marked. The 2 bathhouses were fairly clean but appeared to be very old. It needed some work. The management must have issues with the bathhouses. They had porta-potties through out the park. I guess they were needed because of the size of the park. I would guess that it was about 10 acres with about 2 acres devoted to the camping area. There were trees when one took a site away from the lake. Otherwise, the lakes front sites were all without shade. Overall, I would stay here again.

We camped here during the Christmas season. The bathrooms were spotless and the hot water was in excellent supply. The site we had was large and it was a pull-through site. I think most all the sites here are pull-through. In addition, most all the site I walked thru was very level and some included a concrete pad (extra cost). This site included water, sewer, and electricity. However, there was also a connection for a phone and cable. We did not use those two. The indoor pool was luke warm, but clean and well kept. I was well heated too. The outdoor pools looked to be in fine order too. The staffers here seem to be helpful and friendly. I must confess that they even had garbage pick up on Christmas day! I was so surprised. This campground has most anything a person could want. There was a 18 hole mini golf course, a camp store, a laundry mat, very good security, several lakes (ponds), 2 very nice playgrounds, shuffle board, horse shoe pits, about 14 beach access points, a church, a rec. hall, an arcade, fresh water (purified water free, bring your own jug), campfires allowed, pets welcomed, and there are other items too. Overall, one who enjoys a crowd would love this place in the summer time. Even now, in the winter people have flocked to this place. I would say that it was about 30% full. We are camping in December. Yes, they do have golf carts for rent and I think you can bring your (electric only) own too. According to their brochure, they have a zero tolerance policy concerning these carts. It says, on the 1st offence (underage driving, impaired driving, etc..) one’s golf cart is taken away. I wonder if they adhere to this. Wow, in the rec. hall they have a library (paperbacks mostly, free), they have bingo, parties, and a multitude of other activities.

What a great place to camp. The site we had was just about 40 feet from the ocean. We could hear the waves coming in and crashing onto the sand. The draw backs to this campground include the bugs and very little else. The biting gnats just about ate us alive. I used a can of the regular Off while there. We were here for 5 days. The weather was a bit cool so the mosquitoes were not out yet. The gnats made up for them. This park has it all. We saw wild life such as deer and other sites such as the lighthouse. The lighthouse was in super shape and one could climb to the top if they cared to. I did not. We were in site #62 and I scoped several others while I was there. Almost every site was shaded and well maintained. The staff there were very friendly and helpful. I saw so many smiles that I forgot that I was at a campground. The bath houses were clean. The sites were laid out with plenty of space between them. Of course there were a few that had very little space. But, they were in the minority. The beach had some erosion issues. When the tide was low, one could walk a long way out onto this huge sandbar. I liked it. The fishing seems to be ok. At least the facilities were in good repair and plentiful. The nature center was ok as was the other large parts of the park. Overall, Id give this park a 9.5. The half point off is because of the bugs only.

This park was great. The deer would just about come right up to the camper. The sites were laded out well. They were not to close and very well maintained. The whole park was clean and well looked after. The mens bathroom even had one of those plug in air freshener things. The check in was smooth (it was a self check in). The site we had was level. This park offers a lot of thing to do. We just went there to enjoy our last camping trip of the year. We do plan to return!
